"Words Are Your Wheels" Literacy Day, April 12, 2003, is a special day set aside by Wal-Mart and SamÂs Club to support literacy by having major writers make personal appearances in every Wal-Mart and SamÂs Club across the nation.
Inspirational author and role model, Herman I Neuman, was selected to speak at the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Jerome, Idaho, on Saturday, April 12th, 2:00 PM. He will explain why literacy is important and read from his memoir, ÂHeroes from the Attic: A Gripping True Story of Triumph.Â
By the time he was eighteen years old, he had endured war, killer illnesses, starvation, floggings, homelessness, exile and slavery. As if that werenÂt enough, he also flunked out of school.
However, before he was thirty years old, he had worked his way through college and traveled around the world, for six months, for the adventure of a lifetime.
