San Francisco, California - Black by popular demand, the San Francisco Black Film Festival's (SFBFF) dates are June 11 to 15, 2003 at several venues in San Francisco. In five years, SFBFF has grown from 400 to 3000 attendees and attracts national and international filmmakers, celebrities and industry executives.

     The festival's theme, "Sharing Our Experiences in Film," represents its mission to showcase a diverse collection of films -from emerging and established filmmakers-that highlight the beauty and complexity of the African and African American experience.

Ave Montague, Founder and Director said, "I am very excited about this year's films. We have received more than 100 films which cover an array of subjects from the first Black biker club in the United States to a history of Black Women in Cinema. We have enlightening workshops including Casting, Digital Film and Screenwriting, an Awards Ceremony, a children's program and other special events with surprise celebrity guests. In addition, we are very honored that Billy Dee Williams will host a special showing of his art work to benefit the San Francisco Black Film Festival."
