Semtek unveils the newest member of the Mobile Swipe family, the Side Swipe II

Semtek unveiled the newest member of its Mobile Swipe family, the Side Swipe(r) II, at the Electronic Transactions Associations 2003 Annual Meeting & Expo. The Side Swipe II is a three track magnetic stripe card reader that enables mobile phones to become merchant processing terminals.

With its unique and innovative interface, the Side Swipe II allows the card reader to be used with virtually any mobile phone. The ergonomic and functional design includes features such as a belt clip and a car mount kit to support a wide variety of merchants on the run.

The small form factor of Side Swipe II directly connects to the phone via a serial port. No additional batteries are required for Side Swipe II, keeping power drain to the phone at a minimum. The Side Swipe II incorporates a printer port for the merchant that requires printed receipts.
