A classified ad placed on a local OurLittleNet neighborhood web site by an Alpharetta resident beats manufacturer to #1 spot in search results.

When Richard Rodgers moved into his brand new home in July 2002 his Whirlpool washer and dryer had been sitting in the garage for months. We had asked co-workers and even posted ads on a nationally recognized classified Internet site without any luck!" said Richard.

When Richard found his local OurLittleNet site, www.OurAlpharetta.net, he created a simple free page to advertise his washer and dryer. He quickly sold it to a young couple in Alpharetta as a result and deleted his OurLittleNet page.

What happened next has caused a lot of interest in the small local company.

Immediately we started getting notifications from the site that people were requesting a page that didnt exist", OurLittleNet President James Shaw explains. Thats not surprising in itself, but the frequency was far more than we expected so we investigated the source of the requests."

The source was the worlds leading search engine, www.Google.com, that had ranked Richards simple classified ad as the #1 search result in the entire world wide web for whirlpool gold", the name of the washer and dryer.

The #2 result was www.Whirlpool.com, the manufacturer of the washer!
