Who: Digital Eve Los Angeles (DELA) is the Los Angeles chapter of the national Digital Eve technology group for women, an organization dedicated to community, leadership, jobs, entrepreneurial support, and education for women who work in digital media. Come out and celebrate the end of this year's tax season and get a head-start on career and finances for the next with DELA Co-Chapter Leaders, Regina Preciado and Joy A. Kennelly, DELA members, and special guests: Financial Planner Eileen S. Freiburger, CFP; Career Coach Jane Herman; Writer and Media Commentator Marc Zicree; and VP of Digital Development and Distribution for EMI Recorded Music, Ted Cohen.
Continuing DELA's mission to find the hippest new locations in Los Angeles to host our mixers, this month, we will explore Zip Japanese Fusion Café (3855 W. Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles CA 90010, tel. 213 365-6677). Hidden in Koreatown, Zip's decor is a mish-mash of cool, hip style tempered by the beauty and tranquility of a Japanese garden-environment. Zip features flowing streams, greenery, a typical Japanese wood bridge, and gracious hosts serving tea and delicious meals while experimental films are screened in the modern, techno-style restaurant above.

Ted Cohen

Mr. Cohen is responsible for seeking out, evaluating and executing business opportunities for EMI Recorded Music in the New Media field. He co-founded and served as Chairman of the initial Webnoize conferences and has served as chairman of MidemNet for the past two years. Prior to joining EMI, Cohen ran two highly successful new media consulting operations, attracting clients such as Amazon.com, Microsoft and Universal Studios. Jane Herman
Coach, trainer, writer and speaker
Ms. Herman helps people change and grow into their potential. She came to coaching with a master's degree in Psychology and over twenty years of experience as a senior manager and executive in the high technology, aerospace, and entertainment industries. She also conducts effective communication and life design workshops and is currently in development on two books on these same topics. Marc Zicree
Writer and Media Commentator
Writing both individually and as a team, Marc Zicree and his wife, Elaine Zicree, have over 90 dramatic television credits to their name. He has served on the staff of four series, co-written seven pilots, and worked on screenplays for new Line, MGM, and the Jim Henson Company among others. One of the country's leading experts on media, Mr. Zicree was a commentator for three years on NPR's MORNING EDITION. He has also appeared on dozens of radio and TV shows including AMERICAN MASTERS, BIOGRAPHY, and ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT.
