OCIA International Accredited by Costa Ricas Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock

Costa Ricas Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG) recently named the Organic Crop Improvement (OCIA) Association as a legally recognized organic certification agency.

Lincoln, NE-Costa Ricas Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG) recently named the Organic Crop Improvement (OCIA) Association as a legally recognized organic certification agency.

As a MAG-accredited agency, OCIA is now able to certify both organic agricultural production and the processing of organic products and foodstuffs within Costa Rica," said Lisa Spicka, OCIA Director of International Accreditation. This benefits not only our Latin American members, but also others wanting to access the Costa Rican organic market."

In addition to Costa Ricas MAG, OCIA International is accredited by the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements, the National Organic Program (US), the Conseil daccréditation du Québec and ISO Guide 65. OCIA International can also assist certified members is verifying their products compliance to EU 2092/91 regulations and OCIA Japan is authorized to certify products to the Japan Agriculture Standards.

Multiple accreditations mean multiple market access," said Spicka. As this MAG accreditation demonstrates, we are committed to providing our members with global market access no matter where their organic operations are located."
