Brandywine Computer Group Implements J.D. Edwards SCM Solution for Merck & Co.

MASON, OHIO, April 9, 2003- Brandywine Computer Group, a Zanett Commonwealth company (NASDAQ: ZANE), announced that it has successfully implemented J.D. Edwards (NASDAQ: JDEC) Supply Chain Management solutions for Merck & Co., one of the leading pharmaceutical companies in the United States.

Merck has operations in multiple locations including manufacturing and distribution facilities across North America. The J.D. Edwards SCM application allows for enhanced distribution performance and broader, near real-time inventory visibility, shortened replenishment cycles, improved transportation optimization, and significant cost savings.

Edwards Supply Chain Management applications, specifically Production and Distribution Planning (PDP) and Vehicle Loading (VL), ensure that the pharmaceutical supplier has the right product at the right place and time, while also adhering to the constraints of its manufacturing, inventory and logistic business model.

Mercks software selection process also included i2, Manugistics, and Logility. Ultimately, the pharmaceutical giant chose J.D. Edwards for the robustness of its SCM solution, and the Brandywine Computer Group for its J.D. Edwards applications skill-sets and its strong experience with supply chain planning projects. Merck took ownership of the solution prior to going live, due to knowledge transfer occurring during the implementation and not after its completion. The company also noted that the engagement was completed on time and under budget.
