Sam the Hero Cat (ISBN 0-9715699-0-8)Dr. Barbara Yanowski, won the top award as Best All-Around Childrens Non-Fiction Book at the Florida Publishers Association annual Presidents Book Awards in Orlando this past Saturday. The beautiful hard cover book was fully illustrated by third grade children whose photographs and comments are high-lighted in back of this book. Barbara has appeared at schools in Tampa Bay area, Chicago, and New York where she reads the book and encourages children to reach for the hero within, telling them that when they do small hero deeds every day they will be ready when the opportunity arises to be a big hero. Schools are requesting return visits because of the wonderful response from the children. The book is available at local book stores and online stores.
