NERO® International Announces their National Events
White Plains, NY -- April 16, 2003 -- Today NERO® International proudly announced their National Gaming Event.
Founded in 1988, NERO ®, is currently the largest and most progressive Live Action Role-Playing Company in North America and Canada. Presently, NEROs membership base, nation wide, comprises of more than eight thousand people. Players from all areas within the U.S. and Canada take part in role-playing their characters utilizing the identical rule system, in any Licensed NERO chapter to which they travel. Our licensing system is built on the premise that the Corporation can be successful only if our franchisees are successful first. We believe in a partnering relationship with our owner/operators, suppliers and customers. Success for NERO® International flows from the success of its business partners.
NERO® will be conducting a series of nationally sponsored events over the next several years to introduce national storylines that players in every chapter have the chance to participate and shape the outcomes. The events will be held in different regions of the U.S. to allow all chapters to participate and to afford all members the opportunity to participate in events dedicated to these storylines.
The first National Event is scheduled for July 4, 2003 to July 7, 2003 at the large camp at FDR National Park outside Atlanta, Georgia. Directions will be made available.
Requested by South Georgia and quickly supported by South Carolina, Eastern Tennessee, North Georgia, and Alabama, National accepted leadership to coordinate a national event with regional atmosphere and ambience. This game will be action packed with National and Local Storylines that will touch every character from every chapter.
NERO has conducted national events in the past including Tarlov, the Ghost Hand", a highly successful and very popular storyline that attracted several hundred players from across the country, all traveling to Massachusetts to participate.
Working closely with National, the following chapters have agreed to staff and conduct storylines for the July 4th event: South Georgia, South Carolina, Eastern Tennessee, Boston, North Georgia, Alabama, Metro DC, VORPL, and Florida.
Several Storylines being conducted at the July 4th Event are:
Weekend Event Storyline: We do not want to spoil the Event Teaser. This information may be in-game at this time or introduced at your local chapter soon.
The Avalonian Tournament: One of the first newly built Avalonian Keeps set on the South Western fringes of the Kingdom of Evendarr has been completed, and the Avalonian Emissaries from the surrounding lands are moving into their official new homes, whether they like it or not. The Concordance is sponsoring the First Avalonian Tourney, a competition for noble and commoner alike, be they citizen or visitor, all civilized beings will be allowed to participate under the flag of peace. Four person teams will compete in assorted contests including Chess, Card Games, Puzzle & Riddle Solving, Single Combat, Team Combat, a devious Scavenger Hunt, Mimic, Capture the Flag, and other games of skill. The hosts expect that participants will represent their homeland with their actions, etiquette, and of course, their scorings. Though the thrill of competition and the meeting of worthy opponents and new allies may be enough reward for many, prizes will be awarded for the best team and best individual performances as well.
The Concordance of Avalon: National will fully introduce the Concordance of Avalon, a storyline full of politics and intrigue that is based around many nations allying themselves through the same general Laws, Customs and Noble Etiquette, and meant to outline how all citizens are expected to act and can expect to be treated and the minimum ramifications of noncompliance by law breakers & Code violators.
Avalon Knight Induction Ceremony: There will be a ceremony to recognize and induct individuals into Avalon Knighthood. The Avalon Knights are the noble order dedicated to the maintenance and preservation of the Concordance and the principles it stands for. Several people who have dedicated themselves to furthering the diplomacy needed to forge the Concordance will be honored with the awarding of Avalon Knighthood including citizens from Baddira and Quentari.
Kingdom of Evendarr: There has been so much going on in Evendarr these days with expansion and the Concordance that His Royal Majesty, King Mykel Endarr II of the Kingdom of Evendarr, will be in attendance. Rumors hold that the Kingdom has grown so much over the last few years that His Majesty is considering reorganizing the Principalities and naming a new Prince or Princess. Rumors abound that His Majesty has summoned several of his Vassals for noble ceremonies.
Local Storyline: Each participating Chapter will manage a Storyline of their own manufacture, allowing them to introduce their game flavor to event attendees, and possibly entice them to visit their local chapter. This storyline will be linked in some way to our overall weekend event storyline.
