Previously unreleased CDs of soul music artist George Curtis GC" Cameron now available on the Internet.

Fans of G. C. Cameron, former lead singer of the renowned R & B group, The Spinners, and the voice of Its So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday" in the movie Cooley High have been trying to find his newest CD, Shadows. Shadows, as well as a previously unreleased contemporary gospel mini-CD, Truth and Reality, are now available.

Cameron traces his musical roots to rural Mississippi, where he was born and raised. After being wounded in action in Vietnam, he returned to his adopted home in Detroit. Shortly afterward, he auditioned and was selected to fill an opening as a front man for the Motown band, The Spinners.

Within three months, he and The Spinners opened for Marvin Gaye at the Apollo Theater, and then toured the country. The group became an integral part of the Motown song factory. The bands first breakout hit, Its a Shame" was written by Camerons friend, Stevie Wonder. Cameron later embarked on a solo recording career at Motown. He recently reunited with The Spinners where he is again front man", and currently tours the country singing with the band.

His extensive discography spans three decades and reflects the influences of his musical mentors, Sam Cooke and Curtis Mayfield. In 2001, Cameron released his latest solo CD, Shadows" (DAGA-JACC), a project he describes as a labor of love." When he is not touring, Cameron devotes much of his time to his DAGA-JACC Foundation, an organization he founded to raise awareness and funds to support education for youth, writing his memoirs, and planning a retreat in his native McCalls Creek. Cameron resides in Jackson, Mississippi.
