100th Monkey An original play written and directed by Brino Ism Performed by World Peace Clowns, a non-profit organization (Inspired by the book Ken Keyes Jr. wrote "The Hundredth Monkey" 1982, Vision Books)
My version of the story has nothing to do with this species of monkey. In the play we are dealing with a hairless monkey called 'Homosapiens ". I believe in this phenomenon of mind to mind awareness and want to help bring about a positive change in our world. To really create a "World of PEACE".

(Inspired by the book Ken Keyes Jr. wrote "The Hundredth Monkey" 1982, Vision Books)
Keyes story of "The Hundredth Monkey" is based on a thirty year scientific research project involving a species of monkey called Macaca Fuscata. It all started, in 1956, on an island called Koshima, when scientist started feeding a species of Japanese monkey sweet potatoes in order to study them more closely. In this true story an 18 month old monkey called, Imo, found that the sweet potatoes tasted better if they were washed first. She taught this to he mother. Her playmates also learned this new way and they in turn taught their mothers. Before the eyes of the scientist more monkeys decided to try this new innovation. Within 6 years all the young monkeys learned to wash their sweet potatoes. Some adult monkeys learned this social improvement. Other adults still ate their potatoes dirty. Something took place in the fall of 1958, a certain number of Koshima monkeys were washing sweet potatoes. (The exact number unknown) Lets just suppose there were "99 monkeys" on the Koshima Island; washing their sweet potatoes.
THEN IT HAPPENED!
By the end of the evening almost every monkey was washing their sweet potatoes before eating them. The added energy of this hundredth monkey somehow created an ideological breakthrough. But even more amazing were the colonies of monkeys on other islands and the mainland troop of monkeys at Takasakiyama all started washing their potatoes.
Thus, when a certain critical number achieves awareness, this new awareness may be communicated from mind to mind.
My version of the story has nothing to do with this species of monkey.
In the play we are dealing with a hairless monkey called 'Homosapiens ".
It didnt take 30 years of studying monkeys to write this story.
It took over 40 years of being a slightly twisted clown.
[with too much time on his hands)
I believe in this phenomenon of mind to mind awareness and want to help bring about a positive change in our world. To really create a "World of PEACE".
Im tired of eating dirty sweet potatoes!
I wrote a play about a rich and greedy man, Dick, who realized that giving to the poor was good. He teaches his rich and powerful friends to give as well. This action caused a ripple that created a "world-wide transformation" where humans finally got it.
My hope is to perform this story; someone in the audience will "REALLY" get "it". This will create a "REAL" transformation of humankind and we will have a "REAL" world of peace.
Stranger things have happened!
Please come to this performance and witness the possibility of a human transformation that will create a New World of Peaceful Existence
The actors in this play are purely fictional. Any resemblance to persons living or in the here after is a coincidence. All performers are aware of the implications this play may represent. No monkeys were injured before, during or after this momentous event.
