Politically Progressive Talk Radio Show Adds Second Broadcast
Newton, MA (PR Web) April 22, 2003 -- Ben Tafoya and Dennis Tafoya co-hosts of The Emerging Majority, a new radio program adding a politically progressive voice to metro Boston, announced that the show has gained momentum with an additional broadcast. We are pleased to announce that in addition to Fridays, we are now on Sundays at 2 PM on WBNW AM 1120 in Boston," says Ben Tafoya. This is a boon to our working listeners who seek an alternative to the relentless conservative bluster which has dominated talk radio for so long."
The Emerging Majority opens each week with a lively exchange between the brothers' Tafoya on news and views from a progressive perspective. The show also features weekly interviews of writers and activists from the progressive community. Upcoming guests on April 25, 2003 include Elliott Mincberg, Vice President and Legal and education Policy Director of People for The American Way. He will join the brothers for a discussion of the decline in civil liberties protection during the Bush Administration. On May 2, 2003 the show will feature Dr. Paul Krugman, noted columnist of The New York Times for a discussion of the Bush tax cut and the economy.
The show, which debuted on April 11, 2003, aims to create an on-air community for people who are passionate about economic democracy, peaceful foreign policy and human rights. The brothers have had business careers of twenty years each in the technology sector. "We think we have a unique approach to politics based on working in the private sector for so long", says Dennis Tafoya. "We want to invite the community in Eastern Massachusetts to join a conversation about politics, film, literature and the arts that has been going on between us for most of our lives," adds Ben Tafoya.
The Tafoya's also offer their nominations for Goat of the Week and Hero of the Week recognizing individuals who have contributed to recent news events adding their unique editorial commentary to the discussion of the positive and not so positive merits of each person's contribution to the constituencies of working families, progressive professionals, women and minorities. The shows conclude with The End Times offering the personal views of the hosts on books, films, music and the arts of interest to the progressive community.
Each Friday the show can be heard on WBNW 1120 AM and WPLM 1390 AM, as well as through the internet at www.theemergingmajority.com.
