STILL SKIING IN BANFF NATIONAL PARK
While many of the top ski resorts in North America and Europe are closing for the season, skiers and riders can still hit the slopes in Canada's Banff National Park.
BANFF/ LAKE LOUISE, Alberta -- While many of the top ski resorts in North America and Europe are closing for the season, skiers and riders can still hit the slopes in Canada's Banff National Park. With another month remaining in the ski season, there will be plenty more opportunity to perfect the spring skier's tan in Banff / Lake Louise. Closing dates for the Big 3 are: May 11th at Lake Louise, May 19th at Sunshine Village, and Ski Banff @ Norquay is now closed for the season.
Substantial snow bases and many exciting spring events on-mountain will keep skiers and riders entertained as they bask in the spring sun and make some turns through the soft spring snow. Upcoming events include: The Kahlua Cup, Kokanee Freeride, McDonald's Kinder Cup, Molson Party on the Peak, Coors Light Dummy Downhill, 4th Annual Splash Down, Coors Light Beach Party, 'That 70's Ski Day', Slush Cup, and Colin James, Big Sugar, Trooper, April Wine in concert.
Leaders of the Canadian Ski Instructor's Alliance (CSIA) will also hit the slopes for the 2003 Ambassador Team Super Camp, scheduled for May 10-13 at Sunshine Village. "This gathering has been held in Banff National Park for several years running simply because we still offer great snow in May and are one of the few places on the planet to do so!" says Perry Schmunk, Snow School Director for Ski Banff-Lake Louise-Sunshine.
