COMPASS TECHNIQUE TO CHANGE THE DIRECTION VARICOSE VEIN TREATMENT ..

Foam sclerotherapy under the COMPASS techniques is an effective non surgical alternative in treating varicose veins. In a recent report in the prestigious medical journal "Phlebology ", Of Royal Society of Medicine , UK. Compass technique was reported to be a significant mile stone in effective treatment of varicose veins without surgery.

...(COMPASS) technique in the management of Greater Saphenous varicosities with Saphenofemoral Incompetence. ( Phlebology 2002; 17:19-28 )


In this 2-6 year prospective study, 186 limbs with refluxing greater saphenous vein (5.4 - 25.4 mm in size) and incompetent saphenofemoral junction (6 .1 - 31.3 mm in size) were enrolled.

This is the largest variety of varicose veins seen clinically. Which was earlier, only recommended for major surgery .

Three stages of "COMPASS technique" achieved 98-100% sustained obliteration of varicose veins. Patients also had significant relief in their clinical symptoms .The results under the protocol were sustained in the mean 3.4 ±1.7 year follow-up. There was no serious adverse experience reported.

Conclusion: The COMPASS technique was found safe and highly efficacious in the management of extensive large vein varicose disease.
