Redlakes Newest High-Performance Camera

The HG-100K camera is the newest addition to Redlakes motion line features a 1.7 megapixel CMOS sensor capable of recording 1000 frames per second at full resolution, and up to 100,000 fps at reduced resolutions. The camera is built around a 1504x1128 sensor for razor sharp, high-resolution images. A very fast 5 micro-second electronic shutter eliminates motion blur during the recording of extremely high-speed events.

SAN DIEGO, CA (PRWEB) April 25, 2003 -- Customer deliveries of the MotionXtra HG-100K camera are now under way. This newest addition to Redlakes motion line features a 1.7 megapixel CMOS sensor capable of recording 1000 frames per second at full resolution, and up to 100,000 fps at reduced resolutions. The camera is built around a 1504x1128 sensor for razor sharp, high-resolution images. A very fast 5 micro-second electronic shutter eliminates motion blur during the recording of extremely high-speed events. Exceptional light sensitivity, in both monochrome and color models, reduces lighting requirements. The HG-100Ks Gigabit Ethernet enables camera control and rapid image transfer, allowing images to be quickly downloaded to a PC for sophisticated image analysis.

Outstanding for capturing high-speed events in university and corporate Research and Development environments, the HG-100K system consists of three main components: the camera, MotionCentralTM software and an optional Hub Sync Unit. MotionCentralTM software provides camera control and image processing, and is capable of supporting a large number of HG-100K and/or HG2000/HG-TX cameras within a single network. The Hub Sync Unit functions as a Gigabit Ethernet hub. It also ensures the frame synchronization of multiple cameras to within +/-2.5 micro-seconds. A backup battery is embedded within the camera to preserve the recording in the event of a power failure.

The HG-100K improves upon the advantages of CMOS technology, while achieving the frame rates traditionally seen only in CCD sensors," said Bob Fiorentino, Redlakes Vice President of Sales and Marketing. With the HG-100K, high-speed events in laboratory settings can be recorded with higher resolution, less power consumption, at lower costs, and now, with higher frame rates."
