CHICAGO - The 2001 IFP Production Fund winner, WHAT ARE YOU HAVING?, headlines an outstanding lineup of independent shorts this month at CCC on Tuesday, May 6. at Excalibur nightclub located at 632 North Dearborn in Downtown Chicago.

WHAT ARE YOU HAVING?"

CHICAGO - The 2001 IFP Production Fund winner, WHAT ARE YOU HAVING?, headlines an outstanding lineup of independent shorts this month at CCC on Tuesday, May 6. at Excalibur nightclub located at 632 North Dearborn in Downtown Chicago.

CCC headliner, What are you having?" was written and directed by Benjamin Meyer, produced by Jonna Walsh and David Carlson.    Winner of the 2001 IFP/Chicago Production Fund, Benjamin Meyer (CCC 2001 Golden Can Nominee for "Georgie Porgie") explores the possibility of romance between a young man exchanging glances with the young woman sitting across from him in a sandwich shop. (12 min).

CCC Short Film Selection: Debt". From writer-director Brian McQuery: One compulsive gambler. Two rich in-laws. A pair of thugs. You do the math (12 min).

CCC Short Film Selection: Fuji Proof". A commercial shoot goes terribly, terribly wrong. This award-winning hilarious short features Chicago Second City talents Jack McBrayer, Sue Gillan, and Rich Talarico, and is directed by Rick Rios.

CCC Student Film Selection: Since hey got rid of time", written and directed by Columbia College student Stephen Combs. A child is left to wander alone in a strange setting after the war (8 min).

CCC International Selection:"Una Leccion" - A Love affair within a dance, and not extending beyond the dance. Olga Rozanova explores the art of portraying a story of emotions without saying word in this European short film (8 min).

CCC Music Video: The Line", featuring Fashion Bomb. A dark but creative gothic music video with innovative cinematography and original artistic style. Directed by John Weaver, who directed the Orangeman" trailer, which screened at CCC in October 2002. Who or what is fashion Bomb"? LiveMusicChicago.com puts it best: If models were musicians then you would have FashionBomb. Cutting edge music and cutting edge fashion is what you can expect from this band. Fashion Bomb pushes the edge with agressive riffs and slamming beats. FashionBomb music is the next logical step in the evolution of rock and roll (5 min).

May 6 is also is Avid night. CCC is honored to be hosting the first major Chicago demo showcasing Avid's newest technology. Fresh off the NAB conference in Vegas, Avid reps will be on hand, bringing the latest in professional editing systems to the CCC audience. This pre-screening event, beginning at 6:30 pm in the CCC Digital Theater, is not to be missed.
