Important Regulatory Compliance Information - DEPLOYMENT OF U.S. TROOPS PUTS THE SOLDIERS AND SAILORS CIVIL RELIEF ACT ON CENTER STAGE
(NEW YORK, NY) --
As a service to the financial service industry and the military personnel who are offering the ultimate sacrifice to serve our country, The Edcomm Group is presenting Soldiers and Sailors. Soldiers and Sailors applies The Edcomm Groups regulatory compliance knowledge, ability to deliver distance learning solutions, and understanding of the needs of the financial service industry. As an alternative to researching this infrequently applied regulation, The Edcomm Group has produced an interactive and quick way for members of the financial service industry to learn their responsibilities in adhering to the Soldiers and Sailors Relief Act of 1940.
By accessing Soldiers and Sailors at www.bankersacademy.com a four to six minute multimedia presentation will present all of the information that is needed to comply with this obscure but important regulation.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Edcomm Group is proud to present Soldiers and Sailors, an informative, self-paced, multimedia tutorial on The Soldiers and Sailors Civil Relief Act of 1940 (SSCRA). The release of Soldiers and Sailors is particularly timely due to the escalating conflict in the Middle East, and the increasing numbers of National Guard and Reservists being called to active duty.
The Soldiers and Sailors Civil Relief Act of 1940 protects citizen soldiers and their dependants from the undue financial hardship that may come from being asked to leave civilian life and serve their country. The Act requires, among other things, that financial institutions cap interest rates on specific debts at low levels, and establishes procedures for civil action against those in military service.
According to Dr. Linda Eagle, President of The Edcomm Group,
Although the SSCRA has been in effect for more than 60 years, many members of the financial services industry have never heard of the Act and are unaware of how it is administered. We created this tutorial to fill that need, and at the same time, provide informational support to those military personnel who have been called to defend our country in this time of national crisis."
The Edcomm Group is offering Soldiers and Sailors free-of-charge to anyone who would like to obtain a copy. It may be viewed online or downloaded from www.bankersacademy.com.
