Mumbai, India- Award-winning Indian film, Mr. and Mrs. Iyer", that journeys thru the heartland of India, directed and written by Aparna Sen, will be seen coast to coast in the USA through special screenings, Indian theatre circuit and an Indian DVD release.
The film has been critically acclaimed as a path-breaking movie transcending boundaries to promote peace and understanding by revealing the harsh realities of prejudice.

By popular demand, an encore screening at the Asia Society on April 29 has been arranged in addition to a special press screening and conference at NY Magno Preview Theatre on April 22 announcing upcoming Indian DVD release by TIPS Films (Edison, NJ, Tel: 732- 744 0345) and exhibition in the Indian US theatre circuit starting April 25.
Receiving a buzz throughout the international film communities, Mr. and Mrs. Iyer" has been picking up accolades at different international film festivals. The film recently won top honors and the Euro 120,000 prize for best film at the Las Palmas Spain Int. Film Festival--the first time an Indian film has won. Other honors include Best Asian Film and Young Jury Award at the Locarno Int. Film Festival; Best Feature Film at Hawaii Int. Film Festival; Star Screen Awards Indian Diaspora Best Film and top ten audience favorite at the Palm Springs Film Festival.
- distinguished cast and crew have top award winners headed by director and writer Aparna Sen, who acted in many of the famed Indian director Satyajit Rays films and has directed five films. Cinematographer Goutam Ghosh has won directing awards in Cannes and Venice. Music director Zakir Hussain, who sings for the first time in the film, has been nominated for the Grammy for his Indo-fusion music.
