Executive Director Selected for the International Partnering Institute
Barbara Santos will oversee the development and distribution of 'partnering' and 'dispute prevention' education programs and products for the construction industry.
Livermore, California-4/24/03-The International Partnering Institute has selected Barbara Santos as its new executive director. The institute is based in Northern California but serves clients across the United States primarily in the construction industry. IPI also serves clients in several foreign countries including Canada, Germany and Finland.
The International Partnering Institute is the educational arm of OrgMetrics. IPI offers support products (books, audio tapes, special reports and white paper reports) on partnering while OrgMetrics offers custom tailored, on-site partnering programs for large construction projects. The educational materials will allow project managers to learn about partnering and conflict resolution so they can immediately incorporate the proven techniques into their management styles.
Partnering has proven to be so successful in saving time and money on construction projects that the largest Caltrans contracts now specify the use of the training," reports Santos. The value of partnering has filtered down to smaller contractors. The partnering and conflict prevention educational materials provided by IPI will allow any company to use the same techniques as the major contractors."
As her first project, Santos will launch the introduction of 'Partnering in a Box in late Spring 2003. A syndicated column covering monthly partnering topics is available for trade publications, as well. Information on the institute and a list of available products are available on-line at www.partneringinstitute.com.
Santos is also the owner of SANTOS!PR, a Hawaii public relations and event management agency affiliated with the Maui Writers Conference, and she is a published author. She can be reached at (925) 449-8300 or barbarasantos@orgmet.com .
