The conference is a motivational and instructional event for writers featuring an impressive list of authors and screenwriters. John Saul (thirty N.Y. NOTE: There will also be a Maui Writers Retreat from August 23-28. The retreat offers intensive hands-on instruction from major authors. The goal is to develop the students existing manuscript so it is marketable. The faculty includes John Saul, Dorothy Allison, Terry Brooks, Bryce Courtenay, Billie Letts and local author Deborah Iida (Middle Son). Students are selected by a writing sample.
