Northeast Florida Travelers' Advisory Alert
As of May 2, 2003, the Nassau County Medical Society advises against tourists visiting all of Northeast Florida due to the lack of healthcare.
Nassau County Medical Society Press Release 4/24/03:
The Nassau County Medical Society of Northeast Florida has issued a Northeast Florida Travelers' Advisory Alert urging that tourists avoid Amelia Island, Nassau County, and the greater Jacksonville Florida area as of May 2, 2003. In the absence of significant malpractice insurance tort reform by the Florida State Senate, most surgical specialties in Northeast Florida will be unavailable, thus creating a physician shortage crisis. It is our desire that medical services will be restored as soon as possible.
