Dishy Dancer Gives Photographer a Leg Up on Competition

Paul Antico's "Ordinary Elegance" series wins him top honors at Los Angeles arts festival. This marks latest kudo for rising photographer.

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. -- If everything is beautiful at the ballet, why not bring that loveliness into your own home?

For this engaging notion, photographer Paul Antico took home a prize this weekend from the Call to Arts! Juried Art Contest and Expo at Cal State Northridge.

His Ordinary Elegance" series (see below) impressed the panel drawn from Artists Helping Artists and The Creative Line Magazine, co-sponsors of the event, making him one of the few photographers to take home a trophy.

This marks only the latest honor for Antico, who recently placed second in an international contest for Women and HIV," his striking image of Rebekka Armstrong, former Playboy Playmate and HIV+ AIDS activist. As suggested by his company name, Creative Antics, Antico specializes in playful, thought-provoking images with emotional impact.

Clients ranging from Lexus to the J. Paul Getty Museum and from Automotive News to Italys LEspresso Magazine have called for his distinctive combination of clean composition, intense colors and visual wit. His mastery of digital processes enhances the images conjured by his mind's eye and captured in his lens.
