Seek Systems Announces FasFile -- Exchange Edition (EE) over 300% improvement in Exchange server performance

Woodinville, Washington (PR WEB) April 25, 2003 -- Seek Systems, Inc., provider of FasFileTM RAID and FasFile XceleratorTM storage products, has announced the Exchange Edition of these systems, configured especially for corporate email and Exchange environments. FasFiles performance is derived from Seeks proprietary Adaptive cache technology which assures that most I/O operations are serviced from cache memory rather than waiting for the physical disk operation.

FasFile Xcelerator EE is an appliance that resides between the server and the existing external disk array, is transparent to the server and can be installed in minutes. FasFile RAID EE is based on the same Adaptive Cache technology as the Xcelerator, but also includes the RAID 5 controller and up to 4.6 Terabytes of data in a complete sub-assembly.

Up to six SCSI based servers can be connected to the Xcelerator at the same time -- either as separate systems or as a Windows cluster - providing very high performance and cost-effective storage for your Microsoft Exchange server.
Seeks FasFile products have been very successful in improving performance in transaction intensive applications such as CRM, Oracle database and messaging. Exchange Edition uses this same proven technology tuned specifically for email and especially for Exchange servers.

Because of the high degree of repetitive disk I/O, temporary files, and audit trails in email and especially in Exchange applications, FasFile EE can produce huge performance gains without any changes to the application software," says G. Wayne Smith, President and CEO of Seek Systems. The FasFile EE is a very easy way to regain your disk performance as the user load grows. Our customers have demonstrated decreases in response time of up to 75% after installing the FasFile EE."

FasFile Xcelerator is the only Microsoft certified storage acceleration appliance. FasFile RAID EE and FasFile Xcelerator EE are available in desktop, pedestal, or 19-inch rackmount cabinet configuration. Availability is two weeks ARO.
