Florida Publishers Association announces their 2003 President's Book Awards. This award is in it's third year and is presented for book excellence.
ORLANDO, FLORIDA Books are released by the thousands every year and each author hopes that his/her will be the one that will be recognized for it's literary excellence. Recently at the Florida Publishers Associations Annual Conference they announced the winners of the third annual President's Book Awards. The winners are: for Best Adult Fiction - "Widow of Sighing Pines" by Jane Walker. Best Adult Non-Fiction - "Protest in the Land of Plenty" by Al Crespo. Best Children's Fiction - "There's a Frog on a Log in the Bog" by Robert and Linda Day with illustrations by Linda S. Day. Best Children's Non-Fiction goes to "Sam the Hero Cat" by Barbara Yanowski and the Basha Bunch. A tie for Best Florida Title between "There's a Frog on a Log in the Bog" by Robert and Linda Day and "The Legend of Gasparilla: A Tale for All Ages" by James F and Sarah Jane Kaserman. Best Cover Design the winner was "The Legend of Gasparilla: A Tale for all Time" Cover design by Pearl and Associates. The awards were presented by the president of the Florida Publishers Association Dinah Arnette.
