Mike Reynolds’ latest nonfiction work, “The New Girl” has just been released by Publish America Books. A compassionate, often humorous and hard-hitting look at how we develop our sense of gender, the book chronicles a two-month experiment in crossing gender lines.

In the fall of 2001 Mike became Lisa. Lisa Anne Weber - 35, overweight, unemployed, and female. Changing his name, appearance, and legal identity, he lived as this woman for two months, attempting to find employment and build a life for her in the small college town of New Haven, CT. He did not find what he expected, and in the end, he was to discover something that transcends all our differences.
