ExecutiveParent.com announces the new Building Stronger Writers" writing lab for Summer 2003.
Learning writing skills at an early age helps to build a solid foundation for success. This five-session writing lab is designed to increase childrens confidence and skills and to help them become better writers.
Roselle, Illinois (PRWEB) April 28, 2003 -- Parents, give your child an academic edge with this five-week writing lab taught by Cheryl Miceli, K-8 writing consultant and co-founder of ExecutiveParent.com. The Building Stronger Writers" writing lab is designed to increase childrens confidence and skills and to help them become better writers as they learn the writing process.
At the conclusion of the writing lab, students present published works to their families at an American Authors Tea. All students receive a published copy of their work and a portfolio of their writing.
According to C. Peter Magrath, Chairman of The Commission on Writing in Americas Schools and Colleges, To succeed in life-and in a career-one needs to write clearly and effectively; good writing reflects good thinking." Adds Vice-Chair Arlene Ackerman, Writing is a critical part of students experience beginning in elementary school and continuing though junior high, high school, and into college."
The Commission just released its findings at the Education Writers Associations annual conference. Among its conclusions: there is a sheer lack of attention to writing in schools.
This five-week lab provides a way for parents to augment the writing instruction their children receive in school and helps them gain an academic edge.
This summers writing lab is being held in Roselle, Illinois, a Northwest Suburb of Chicago. Two levels are offered: Level 1 for students entering first grade in the fall, and Level 2 for students entering second-third grades in the fall. Class duration is one hour each week for five weeks. Classes begin the week of June 9th and end the week of July 7th.
Registration is limited to 10 students per class, so early enrollment is advised.
