Add Dramatic Animated Effects to Windows

Barefoot Productions has released ZoomOpen v. 3 and WindowGhost v. 1, a pair of utilities that add excitement to common Windows functions. ZoomOpen displays animated visual effects when opening and closing windows on your desktop. WindowGhost makes windows semi-transparent when they are being moved or resized.

ZoomOpen makes windows spin, roll, evaporate, or act in a number of unusual ways. You can control the smoothness of these dramatic transitions by setting the number of zoom steps, the zoom step delay, the line width, and the extent of zoom trails. You can control separately the way windows open and close. You can even determine if you want the program's special effects to apply to all application windows, captionless windows, tool and caption windows, dialog and message box windows, or desktop and folder windows. Windows 2000/XP users can even use fade in/out effects.

You can quickly access ZoomOpen's settings from an icon in the systems tray, changing the look and feel of your computer with just a few clicks.

WindowGhost makes windows semi-transparent when they are being moved or resized. The ghosting effect lets you see through the window to reveal the other windows beneath it, allowing you to move and resize windows more easily.

It's easy to set up your computer so that ordinary windows movement and resizing take place normally, but using the shift, control, or alt keys while moving or resizing windows results in stunning graphics effects. Setting the degree of opacity is as easy as moving a slider bar with your mouse.

Whether you want to add variety by animating your desktop, impress colleagues and family members with your computer's unusual behavior, or make a fashion statement that reflects your mood, ZoomOpen and WindowGhost provide the tools.

ZoomOpen v. 3 costs $19.95, requires Windows 98/Me/2000/XP, and may be purchased securely online from Barefoot Productions at http://www.barefootinc.com/. WindowGhost v. 1 costs $14.95, requires Windows 2000/XP, and is available from the same web site. Both programs can be purchased together for $27.95. Site licenses, educational institution discounts, and 15-day trial versions are available. For more information, contact: Barefoot Productions, 1101 W. Enclave Circle, Louisville, CO 80027.
