The Blue Marionette
By Elsan H. Stafford

ISBN: 1-59129-362-6

A hauntingly poignant tale dealing with the myriad experiences of a once-in-a-lifetime love, and the devastating force of its ultimate impact on the psyche of a devote and sensitive man, dating from the naivety of early youth during the early 1900's to the acculturation of mature manhood in World War II. This is a novel about one man s relationship with life and burgeoning love in a world of a bygone era (America, circa 1920 -1945), when innocence was the acceptable standard of moral conduct, and honor foremost in the vanguard of human experience. Passionate in theme and spiritual in its inexorable premise of true love and character-driven destiny, The Blue Marionette is a story about one man s efforts to salvage happiness and salvation from the pernicious strings of an ever-omnipresent puppeteer.

Elsan H. Stafford World War Two veteran, father of four, 89 years young and a freelance
writer and novelist for over sixty years, Elsan H. Stafford has had a number of poems, short stories and journalistic pieces published in both regional and national publications during his long literary career.

Besides recently completing his major tome "The Blue Marionette," and a second novelette and a manuscript of poetry, Elsan keep extremely busy assisting his youngest son in his endeavors to fine-tune and market the many screenplays he has written. His favorite authors who have inspired him the most remain Edgar Allan Poe, Thomas Wolfe, Victor Hugo and George Byron, to name a few. For it is the slice-of-life genre through which he enjoys writing, and believes that a central theme and moral conclusion are essential to a poem or story s success.

Now working on a fourth novel, Elsan's first outting as a romance novelist (his swashbuckling epic "The Passionate Swordsman") as well as a collection of emotionally-charged classically-written poems ("A Lover's Anthem") were recently published online and can be purchased respectively at: http://www.SynergEbooks.com and
