CADX PROJECTCENTRE CEMENTS BANGITUP CONSTRUCTION SOLUTION
SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA, Tuesday, April 29, 2003 BANGitUP.com, the Construction Industry Network, announced today that CADX, developers of world leading construction management information system solution ProjectCentre", has cemented relationships with BANGitUP
CADX brings to the partnership another 7,500 subcontractors and A$11B in projects worldwide including Heathrow Terminal 5 and the Sydney Cross City Tunnel.
CADX provides BANGitUP Members with a solution which is already meeting the needs of the big end of town and which we can scale down to meet the majority of builders and trades people" said Scott Maxworthy, Director, BANGitUP. In return, the BANGitUP procurement module will link into ProjectCentre.
In three years BANGitUP has grown to over 1,500 small to medium sized builders and 500 suppliers across the country. With its Alliance Partners, BANGitUP is progressively moving towards providing a complete building solution, from initial design to final completion through a series of best of breed" software alliances.
The BANGitUP Solution will enable members, owners, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and service providers to manage construction projects centrally including design, document management, plan printing, tendering, purchasing, delivery and payment of construction services and products.
The benefit of the BANGitUP best of breed" approach is that development and service provision costs are spread across all alliance partners, reducing the financial, intellectual and investment risk. The solutions are also structured to reward early adoption of the system. This, in turn, is generating demand for the industry to invest more heavily in e-commerce sooner rather than later," Scott said.
Paul Hemmings, Managing Director of CADX, (and new BANGitUP Director), said the BANGitUP Solution delivers significant efficiencies for both private and public sector projects through improved communication, professionalism and save time across the project life cycle.
"When you consider most building information is either phone or paper based and duplicated many times through a project lifecycle, then even a 10 percent gain in efficiency would lead to significant savings for all participants," Mr Hemmings said.
BANGitUP is available to all industry participants. It enables owners to find contractors and contractors to respond to tenders more easily, quickly and accurately. Sub contractors and material suppliers are also able to manage their purchasing and tendering processes online, via fax and in the near future wireless and smart phone.
"While other players have thought or talked about it, BANGitUP has slowly championed e-Commerce as sound business sense and delivered. Over 95% of our competition three years ago are no longer with us or are still burning cash. Potential new players have a challenging and expensive road ahead with the battle being fought (and won) on the customer front. Our commitment and focus on sound business fundamentals means our stakeholder returns are looking good," said Maxworthy.
A unique advantage of BANGitUP is that it provides a user-friendly upgrade path from existing phone and fax to the complete e-commerce solution. Owners, architects or builders simply provide plans and BANGitUP can provide plan distribution, generate a Bill of Materials; find sub-contractors and facilitate best supply. A supplier ERP solution will also be launched potentially enabling the seamless flow of information through the entire supply chain.
