Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) May 1, 2003 -half of U.S. households now using a dial-up Internet connection are interested in upgrading to broadband during 2003 -- an increase of almost 50% over last year. According to Parks Associates latest report, Trends in U.S. Broadband Adoption, such a surge in consumer interest will likely prompt growth in service adoption.
U.S. consumers are now more aware of the value of broadband," said Michael Greeson, senior analyst and director of broadband research for Parks Associates. But consumer demand for broadband will ultimately be tempered by accessibility to service, subscription costs, and the availability of meaningful content and services. In order to take advantage of this spike in interest, broadband service providers must continue to refine the consumer value proposition and try to avoid increasing the monthly price of high-speed connectivity."
Parks Associates latest broadband report, Trends in U.S. Broadband Adoption, provides a detailed update and analysis of the issues impacting the adoption of broadband service in consumer homes. The report features year-end 2002 subscription estimates for residential broadband service as well as an overview and discussion of value-added services such as digital telephony and home networking. Trends in U.S. Broadband Adoption also offers forecasts for U.S. residential broadband adoption through 2006.
