C&R / Rizvi, Inc. Receives Award for the Design of the Reebok Childcare Center

C&R / Rizvi, Inc., a twenty-five person architecture, planning, and interior design firm in Bostons Back Bay, was recently honored by Dupont Antron for the design of the Reebok Childcare Center in Canton, Massachusetts.

C&R / Rizvi, Inc., a twenty-five person architecture, planning, and interior design firm in Bostons Back Bay, was recently honored by Dupont Antron for the design of the Reebok Childcare Center in Canton, Massachusetts. The awards ceremony was held from April 3 to April 4 at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles, California. The Dupont Antron Design Award, now in its twentieth year, was judged by six design and industry professionals from across the United States.

The Reebok Childcare Center received the Grand Prize for its innovative approach to childcare design, and also was the winner in the Public/Institutional Spaces category. The building redefines the design of a stand-alone childcare center and fits in with the architectural style of Reeboks headquarters building. Issues such as light, color, and scale were carefully assessed and resolved through the use of wall and floor materials and relationships between interior and exterior spaces. The goal of the design was to use architecture as a tool to contribute to a childs development.

Other local contributors to this project included the contractor, J. Calnan Associates, Inc., SAR Engineering, Inc. who handled the mechanical and electrical systems, Weidlinger Associates, Inc. as the structural engineers, and civil/site engineers from VHB/Vanasse Hangen Brustlin, Inc.
