Guest Comments on Corruption of Society By War

Newton, MA (PRWEB) April 30, 2003: Ben Tafoya and Dennis Tafoya co-hosts of The Emerging Majority, a new radio program adding a politically progressive voice to metro Boston, announced that the show has booked more news making guests. This week for our show airing May 2, 2003 and May 4 we will be joined by Chris Hedges, author of War Is the Force That Gives Us Meaning. Chris Hedges has been an award winning war correspondent for The New York Times. His experience includes being a captive of the Iraqi Republican Guard." says Ben Tafoya.

The book is a timely reflection on the corruption of societies by the seduction of war and nationalism; this guest helps us to create a bridge through radio from important authors and activists to the communities of Eastern Massachusetts" adds Dennis Tafoya.

The Emerging Majority opens each week with a lively exchange between the brothers' Tafoya on news and views from a progressive perspective. The show also features weekly interviews of writers and activists from the progressive community. Upcoming guests on May 22, 2003 include Jonathan Schell, author of the newly published book The Unconquerable World". He will join the brothers for a discussion of the future of war and diplomacy in the face of continued nuclear proliferation.

The show, which debuted on April 11, 2003, aims to create an on-air community for people who are passionate about economic democracy, peaceful foreign policy and human rights. The brothers have had business careers of twenty years each in the technology sector. "We think we have a unique approach to progressive politics based on working in the private sector for so long", says Dennis Tafoya. "We want to invite the community in Eastern Massachusetts to join a conversation about politics, film, literature and the arts that has been going on between us for most of our lives."

The Tafoya's also offer their nominations for Goat of the Week and Hero of the Week recognizing individuals who have contributed to recent news events adding their unique editorial commentary and humor to the discussion of the positive and not so positive merits of each person's contribution to the constituencies of working families, progressive professionals, women and minorities. The shows conclude with The End Times offering the personal views of the hosts on books, films, music and the arts of interest to the progressive community.

Each Friday the show can be heard on WBNW 1120 AM and WPLM 1390 AM, as well as through the internet at www.theemergingmajority.com .
