LOS ANGELES, May 3 -- Latin supermodel Estelle Reyna (OTC Bulletin Board: ERYA - News) is collecting hundreds of email messages each day from her fans in the Middle East and the Persian Gulf. Her desk is replete with care packages, letters and autographed pictures that she sends out daily to the USS Constellation, Kitty Hawk, Essex, Valley Forge and Abraham Lincoln, as well as countless other APO-FPO addresses.
Thanks to organizations such as eMailOurMilitary.com and fuelled by her admiration of the bravery and sacrifice of our Armed Forces, Estelle wants to do what she can to show she cares during these difficult times.
The response to Ms. Reyna's packages has been overwhelming. What started out as an effort to "make a difference" now fills a good five hours each day in the model's busy schedule. "Yes, it takes time, but it is time wisely spent. I feel blessed being able to dedicate a portion of my day to the people who fight for my freedom," stresses Estelle. In an average day, she prepares 50-100 new care packages, customizes them with autographed pictures, key chains, cookies, playing cards and a sample of her own fragrance. After she drops off the care packages at the post office, she gets online and answers another 50 to 100 troop email messages. Her wall is a mosaic of pictures that her fans (mainly sailors) send her during their free time.
"I have made so many new friends. And they all have one thing in common: they are all heroes," says Estelle as she prints out another hundred or so email messages to include in her daily journal. One week's worth of email correspondence between Estelle and her friends in the military is about the size a of a big-city phonebook.
But Estelle's involvement does not stop there. The model has been traveling the country and has been actively participating in "Support the Troops" rallies nationwide. She also uses her many TV and radio appearances to create more awareness about the cause she defends. She is now actively planning a big homecoming event for her many friends on the USS Constellation.
