May 2, 2003 --- Kum-buy-yah.com, an online religious gift store, offers churches the opportunity to earn 10 percent every time one of their members makes a purchase on its website. Joining the affiliate program is free for churches and non-profit organizations in the United States.

Kum-buy-yah.com offers a variety of more than 15000 religious-themed products, such as angels, prayers, poems, music, videos, books, jewelry and statues, and customized gifts, such as mugs, shirts and calendars, for purchase right from the Internet. As a member of Kum-buy-yah.com’s affinity program, member churches will receive 10 percent of their church member’s purchases (pre-tax and pre-shipping, as designated by the consumer during checkout) throughout the year.

Kathy Piech, President and Founder of Kum-buy-yah.com, says the more churches put into this year-round fundraiser, the more they’ll get out of it. The benefiting church will receive a check twice a year with the residuals generated from its church members’ purchases.

“God is like a television set: Everyone is tuned in to him, but we may not all be watching the same channel,” says Piech. “Some churches are Catholic, others are Lutheran, Protestant, Baptist, Jewish, Mormon, or Episcopalian. Some people and churches have no specific affiliation at all but go to services and proclaim God's name. It doesn't matter: What matters is that God is present in our lives, we're tuned in to his message, we hear and proclaim God's message, and God works through us during our everyday lives. And, if you aren't tuned in, you're missing out on something great,” she adds.

Kum-buy-yah.com will never spam a church members’ membership. She says that responsibility is the churches’ job. In addition, kum-buy-yah.com will offer publicity support, such as emails, guidance and artwork, to its churches to help promote the fundraiser.

“Kum-buy-yah.com is one of the only online fundraisers and affinity programs that is specifically targeted to the church community with its product line,” she said. “It offers a significant amount of return to churches, little effort on the churches’ part and is 100 percent web-based. This allows the fundraiser to operate year-round, 24/7, and is easy for churches to promote. They simply distribute the link to their church members. You don’t have to worry about passing out catalogs or brochures, managing inventory, or have a volunteer chairperson manage a fundraiser for you.”

Churches can register on the website at http://www.kum-buy-yah.com. Upon verification, the church or non-profit becomes a member and can receive contributions from kum-buy-yah.com. As the church’s members make purchases throughout the year, it will earn 10 percent of their church member’s base purchase price* when their members designate it as the recipient on the checkout page.

[*Contribution base is the total amount before tax and shipping. Base price includes any discounts or promotions offered off the regular price. Consumers must indicate their church or non-profit organization in the shopping cart during checkout, and their church must be a registered member of Kum-buy-yah.com.]
