London, 5th May 2003 -- BroadGroup, the international research consultancy, has announced the launch of the Mobile Thought Forum, a new group comprising of shared interest research to provide marketing insight into customer relationships with mobile technologies, services and devices.
Managed by BroadGroup the forum will especially address the way in which the mobile landscape is changing, as new technologies and devices create new ways in which users behave and interact. It will also include 802.11 WiFi services, and the new opportunities and challenges that will convergence will impact the future of mobility.
User behaviours moving in and between differing data environments, and the multifaceted use of applications, devices, technologies and services will demand a new level of understanding and insight," commented Philip Low, managing consultant at BroadGroup, and there is a shared interest to determine the collective impact on ARPU, and marketing strategies for future growth."
Members of the Forum will be due to elect its first chairman at the end of the inaugural meeting, whose role will be to act voluntarily on behalf of the group, in seeking to disseminate forum ideas, views, and where appropriate, relevant extracts from research findings.
Membership is open to mobile communication operators, WiFi service providers, content providers, device and solution supplier organisations, application development companies, investment and financial service companies, and academic institutions.
The Forum management will constantly seek to add value and will operate research zones throughout each programme year.
The forum will probably concern themselves first with the challenge of marketing data, and how customers understand and interpret this concept," added Mr Low.
