Artist Michael Raleigh, of Englewood, New Jersey, Wins Place in International Exhibition in Connecticut
Artist Michael Raleigh, of Englewood, New Jersey, has been selected to exhibit his work, "Bone City Sonata", a painting in acrylic on canvas, in the Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts 92nd annual juried exhibition at The Mystic Art Association Gallery in Mystic, Connecticut.
Artist Michael Raleigh, of Englewood, New Jersey, has been selected to exhibit his work, "Bone City Sonata", a painting in acrylic on canvas, in the Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts 92nd annual juried exhibition at The Mystic Art Association Gallery in Mystic, Connecticut.
The artist states, Bone City Sonata is a figurative expressionist piece built on a randomly painted background. The primitive figures that inhabit the painting emerged from that background.
As with much of my work, Bone City Sonata is a ghost story."
"Bone City Sonata" was previously exhibited in the Smithtown Township Arts Council 27th Annual Juried Fine Arts Competition.
Mr. Raleighs work was selected for this event by exhibition jurors Elizabeth Langhorne and John Massimino.

The exhibition will run from Friday, May 23 to Saturday, July 5, 2003. A wine and cheese reception/awards ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 29th from 7-8:30PM. The Mystic Art Association Gallery is located at 9 Water Street, Mystic, Connecticut. Gallery hours for this exhibition are 11:00 -- 5:00 daily and weekends.
