Purafil ESD wins 2003 Business Achievement Award from Environmental Business Journal (EBJ)
Recognized for making first international sale of one-ton emergency gas scrubber
DORAVILLE, GA-Purafil ESD received a 2003 Business Achievement Award in the technology merit category from Environmental Business Journal (EBJ) at the 2003 Environmental Industry Summit in San Francisco. A division of Purafil, Inc., Purafil ESD was honored for making the first international sale of a one-ton emergency gas scrubber (EGS), which was installed at the Silvan Disinfection Plant in Melbourne, Australia. EBJ selected Purafil ESD and other winners for showing resilience and creativity in a challenging market."
Purafils EGS removes the contents of a fully-loaded chlorine cylinder. According to Stephen Answerth, project manager at Melbourne Water, the EGS helped the plant comply with legislation requiring them to reduce the risk of a chlorine release so far as practicable. The dry scrubber was selected because it simpler [than a wet scrubber] and does not involve having liquid caustic soda on-site," Answerth said.
Established in 1987, Purafil ESD is the leading manufacturer of dry-scrubbing odor control equipment and Cl2/SO2 emergency gas scrubbers. For more information, visit the following Web site: http://www.purafil.com/public/esd.htm.
