Blackwater Target Systems Helps Redefine Recruit Marksmanship Training at MCRD, Parris Island, SC

April 25, 2003 Blackwater Target Systems "Blackwater" completed the renovation of the "Khe Sanh" Unknown Distance Range at Parris Island for the Training and Education Command (TECOM).

"Where The Difference Begins" is the motto of Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, SC. In keeping with its tradition of excellence, the Marine Corps recently enhanced recruit training by having Blackwater Target Systems completely renovate and automate the Khe Sanh Unknown Distance Range. With the new system, recruits use smartcard technology that does everything from creating a relay to scoring to providing trend analysis so that there is more to the field-firing evolution than simply firing rounds downrange. Now, the Marine Corps can easily identify strengths and weaknesses in the "Phase Three" marksmanship program and make better use of limited resources so that future Marines will continue to leave Parris Island superior marksmen.

Blackwater Target Systems will feature this system and many others at the upcoming DOD RTLP Conference in Hampton, VA May 6-9, 2003.

Blackwater Target Systems is located in Moyock, NC and is a member of the Blackwater USA family, which also includes Blackwater Training Center, Blackwater Security Consulting, Blackwater Canine, and Blackwater Aviation Worldwide Services.
