1stBooks to Move to Larger Headquarters
Rapid Growth Cited as Reason for Relocation within Bloomington, IN
BLOOMINGTON, IN (PRWEB) May 7, 2003 - 1stBooks, the leading provider of print-on-demand and e-book publishing services, announced today the company's plans to move its home office from 2595 Vernal Pike to 1663 Liberty Drive at The Liberty Technology Park in Bloomington, Indiana. Robert McCormack, President of 1stBooks, made the announcement.
Scheduled to take place in mid-May 2003, 1stBooks upcoming move represents the company's second move to a larger space -- in the short span of just 18 months -- as a result of continued rapid growth. In October 2001 the company moved from its original 7,000 square foot offices located at 2511 West Third Street in Bloomington to its current 12,000 square feet of new Class A office space.
"1stBooks continues to experience phenomenal growth and increased revenue and profitability. We are expanding our staff by adding seasoned management to our ranks and are signing numerous new author contracts daily. The need to move into larger office space is a direct result of this phenomenal growth," said Mr. McCormack. "This move is indicative of our success and represents the latest example of our expanding leadership role within the print-on-demand and e-book publishing space."
"We are extremely pleased to assist 1stBooks with their continued growth by providing the space for the organization's new headquarters," said Peter Dvorak, President of Pinnacle Properties Management Group. "Their new high-tech facility will allow for maximum flexibility as future expansion needs arise."
The new 26,000 square foot office boasts a state-of-the-art digital infrastructure and will serve as headquarters for 1stBooks and home to its 125 employees. The announcement comes on the heels of a string of recent successes for Bloomington, Indiana-based 1stBooks. 1stBooks published a record-breaking 5,000 new titles last year, making it one of the world's largest independent publishers. Additionally, the company saw a significant increase in revenue and profitability, with revenue increasing by more than 65% in 2002 compared to the year prior. The company also recently announced that it had printed and sold its 1,000,000th book in early December 2002.
