Gates has been in the telecommunications industry for more than 14 years, with experience in both telephone company and end-user markets for telecom management software. She brings to HigherGround senior-level experience in telecom sales and marketing involving distribution channel establishment, sales force management, marketing program development and business relationship building.

Gates has written several trade journal articles on the capabilities and applications of telemanagement software, and she is a popular speaker at telecom industry events. In addition, she has served in an elected capacity on the Board of Directors of the Vendor Advisory Council to the Society of Telecommunications Consultants. She has supervised the development and implementation of numerous software tools for measuring, reporting and billing communications network usage.

Before joining HigherGround, Gates was employed by BITEK Inc as Vice President of Marketing and Business Development. Prior to joining BITEK, she held senior management positions including Senior Vice President of Sales, Global Marketing and Business Development for MTS IntegraTRAK, Inc. At MTS, she was responsible for growing core revenue and establishing a dominant market position for the company. Previously she served as Director of Marketing for Quintrex Data Systems, a telecommunications software development firm with headquarters in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Ms. Gates graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BA degree from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa.
