John Ottman continues his double duties as film editor and composer for Bryan Singer on X2. Soundtrack available on Superb Records

Composer and Film Editor John Ottman continues his succesful relationship with director Bryan Singer for X2.

HOLLYWOOD, CA (PRWEB) May 8, 2003 -duty relationship as film editor and composer for director Bryan Singer (The Usual Suspects") for Foxs May 2nd sequel release to X-Men," titled     X2: X-Men United." The score album will be released April 29th on Superb Records. The film reunites the principal cast of the 2000 blockbuster, including Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman and Halle Berry. X-Men" grossed $300 million theatrically worldwide, was a video and DVD phenomenon, and pioneered the current wave of comics-to-film adaptations. John Ottman is well regarded not only for his compositional and editing talents, but he also holds the distinction of being the only film director/editor/composer in Hollywood. He made his directorial debut with Columbia Pictures thriller, "Urban Legends: Final Cut." Due to scheduling conflicts with Legends," Ottman did not work on X-Men," which took six people to fulfill the double-duty that he performs on X2."

For director Bryan Singer, Ottman has written the scores for and edited virtually all his films including the Academy Award®-winning "The Usual Suspects," starring Kevin Spacey, and "Apt Pupil," starring Ian McKellen and Brad Renfro. His editing on "The Usual Suspects" won him the British Academy Award and a nomination from the A.C.E. (American Cinema Editors); his score for that film also won the Saturn Award. Just after Ottman graduated from USCs prestigious film school, he and Singer first teamed up on "Public Access," which won the Grand Jury Prize at the 1993 Sundance Film Festival.

Named one of Daily Varietys Top People to Watch and still in his thirties, Ottman has composed the music for such diverse films as Roland Joffes "Goodbye Lover;" "Snow White" with Sigourney Weaver; John Badhams "Incognito;" Ben Stillers "The Cable Guy;" Steve Miners "Lake Placid;" "Halloween: H2O;" "Pumpkin" with Christina Ricci; and Eight Legged Freaks" with David Arquette. Although most recognized for film work, Ottmans score to Barry Sonnenfelds "Fantasy Island" won an Emmy Award nomination.
