Havana Journal launched to cover Cuba business, culture, politics and travel
The Havana Journal is an online newspaper designed to cover Cuba business, culture, politics and travel. It features third party and original content along with Section-specific directories and discussion forums.
The format is a collective blog" that lists content entries chronologically. This format also allows subscribers to leave comments about the content they read. By sorting content into four Sections, subscribers can focus on their area of interest and not be bothered with unrelated content.
Publisher Rob Sequin said People are passionate about Cuba for many reasons and the Havana Journal gives them an unbiased, central source for news and information thats easy to read".
The site also features Section-specific Forums that are less formal discussion boards where subscribers can interact. The Marketplace pages feature original merchandise and retail storefronts.
There is no charge for subscriptions at this time and the site welcomes subscribers to write stories about their Cuba-related interests, opinions, travels, business ventures, etc.
The Havana Journal was officially launched on May 1, 2003. It evolved from CubanVentures.com that had a more diverse business model.
