SYRACUSE, N.Y., May 7, 2003 -- Fagliarone Group CPAs is planning its second annual firm-wide Day of Caring on Tuesday, June 3, 2003 from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Emerson Park in Cayuga County. A rain date of Wednesday, June 4, 2003 is scheduled as a contingency, in the event of heavy rain or wind on June 3. The second annual Day of Caring will bring approximately 50 Fagliarone Group CPAs employees from the firms Syracuse, Auburn, Utica and Oswego offices together to plant thousands of flowers throughout Emerson Park.

Fagliarone Group CPAs first introduced the idea of a day-long, firm-wide Day of Caring in 2002 as a way to celebrate its 30th anniversary. The firm and its employees wanted to give back to the community that had contributed to its success and growth throughout the years. So the group spent a day at Highland Forest, an Onondaga County park, in May of 2002. Last year's project included marking and clearing trails, and repairing, cleaning and painting a building on the property. The Day of Caring was such a success among employees that the principals of the firm agreed to conduct a second annual Day of Caring in 2003.

This year, teams of employees from Fagliarone Group CPAs will be planting flowers in prepared flower beds the week after Emerson Park's annual Memorial Day concert. The firm chose the Emerson Park project because it wanted to work on an outdoor project in Cayuga County, the location of the firm's Auburn office.

All of Fagliarone Group CPAs' employees had such a good time working on the Day of Caring project last year, that we decided to extend the event annually. Our employees enjoyed giving back to the communities where we live and work. We also liked the sense of accomplishment we felt when the project was done," said Donald Taylor, CPA, President of Fagliarone Group CPAs. The day also provided a unique opportunity for teamwork and camaraderie. Bringing folks from our different offices together to participate in a roll-up-your sleeves but fun experience was more rewarding than we could have imagined. Plus, the fresh air in a beautiful outdoor setting was a refreshing change of pace."

The firm is closing its offices on June 3 so that all employees can participate in the Day of Caring. The firm plans to hold a firm-wide meeting at the park prior to planting, which will begin at 10:30 a.m. The firm is also providing a catered lunch to its employees at the site, in appreciation for their efforts.

Fagliarone Group CPAs, P.C., an Independent Member of the BDO Seidman Alliance, is a regional Certified Public Accounting (CPA) firm with offices in Syracuse, Auburn, Utica and Oswego. Established in 1972, the firm specializes in a wide range of financial services for both businesses and individuals, including tax planning and preparation, auditing and financial planning services.
