Redstone Software, Inc. today announced a new release of its premier cross-platform software testing and automation tool, Eggplant. The new version 1.3 of Eggplant incorporates months of development effort in response to customer needs to deliver solid improvements and new functionality in every area of the program.

The new version 1.3 of Eggplant incorporates months of development effort in response to customer needs to deliver solid improvements and new functionality in every area of the program.

Highlights of this release include: a new user preference panel to give users an easy way to customize the program to better meet their needs; script syntax colorization to provide immediate visual feedback on script correctness, and make Eggplant's English-like SenseTalk scripts even easier to read and understand; automatic selection of appropriate image type when capturing images of the system under test, to make script generation even easier and more reliable; plus more than 100 other new features and improvements to further enhance the Eggplant user experience.

In addition, the Eggplant documentation has been significantly revised and updated for this release, including an all-new Getting Started guide and introductory movie designed to get new users up to speed and ready to begin creating their own test scripts within an hour after installing the package.
