METHINKS MOVES FLASH MX INTO THE THIRD DIMENSION

Methinks today announced the release of 3D Flyout, a Flash MX component that gives designers an easy way to add 3D motion to their Flash projects.

3D Flyout brings Flash into the third dimension in a simple but compelling way: by making 2D movie clips fly out of the screen with realistic 3D geometry. Numerous samples like flying dollar signs, flowers, and planets are included and ready to be used in projects. 3D Flyout can be customized to create starfield effects using any movie clips.

3D Flyout encapsulates the complex ActionScript that is normally required for this 3D effect. With 3D Flyout a designer just needs to drag, drop, and set the custom control panel. A live preview of the effect will appear on the authoring stage.

3D Flyout requires the Macromedia Flash MX authoring tool (Windows or Macintosh), but projects with 3D Flyout can be published for the older Flash 5 player (or higher). 3D Flyout costs $19.95 and is available for immediate purchase as an electronic download at http://methinks.com. 3D Flyout Lite is available for free.
