'Baghdad Bob' to Raise Funds for Military Families.

Online petition to spare Iraqi Information Minister from unused ordinance. Each signed petition and proceeds from 'Baghdad Bob Store' will generate funds for distressed military families.

Calabasas, CA -- A petition to spare the life of Mohammad Saeed al-Sahaf, also known as "Baghdad Bob" is being used to help military families through a donation by the owner of www.SpareBaghdadBob.com. The website humorously pays homage to the former Iraqi Information Minister, who often bent the truth to make things look peaceful during the recent war.

Although the site pokes fun, the goal is serious: to partner with Operation Homefront, who help military families in need," says Michael Madden, owner of the www.SpareBaghdadBob.com. Corporate sponsor
Broadcaster Training.com will donate twenty five cents per signed petition to this worthwhile cause that provides assistance to military families so that deployed service members are not preoccupied by crises at home.

The SpareBaghdadBob.com petition asks Secretary of State Donald H. Rumsfeld to spare the former Iraqi Information Minister from "any and all attempts to eternally silence him".

The petition also states, Secretary Rumsfeld, it was a tough war and we all need a break from its stresses and strains.  We urge you to consider extending an invitation to "Baghdad Bob" to visit America where he will be truly free to meet, network, or simply relax with a cocktail and a smoke. Finally, we urge you to use your vast and wide connections to hook "Baghdad Bob" up as a consultant to the Chicago Cubs.  He is the only living being on the planet capable of convincing them things aren't so bad."

According to Madden, he knew he found a character he could use to help military families when he saw Mohammad Saeed al-Sahaf on television denying the invasion. I loved Baghdad Bob the minute I heard him and wanted to make him the ''star of the show'' to help Operation Homefront," he says. There have been reports of his death, but until I hear HIM deny it, I wont believe them."

SpareBaghdadBob.com also sells apparel, accessories, novelties & collectibles about Baghdad Bob in order to raise funds for Operation Homefront. Items include t-shirts, caps, bumper stickers and calendars. Proceeds from all sales will go to the charity. For more information on Operation Homefront, visit www.operationhomefront.net.
