Comedic Novel Wins Top Honors in National Writing Contest

May 13, 2003 - The comedic novel, "Hey Dorothy You're Not in Kansas Anymore", by playwright and novelist Karen Mueller Bryson, was recently selected as a winning entry in the national 2003 WriteSafe Present-a-thon Writing Contest. "Hey Dorothy You're Not in Kansas Anymore" is a fast-paced and funny novel which tells the story of a young woman coming to terms with her father's sudden death. It is a tale reminiscent of The Wizard of Oz. NDK, Creative Artist and author of "The Helm and The Horde Trilogy" calls Karen Mueller Bryson "an author with a unique voice".
Mueller Bryson earned a Master's degree in Creative Writing with an emphasis in Playwriting from Warnborough University. Prior to becoming a writer, she earned a Master's Degree in Human Development Counseling and worked for a number of years as a counselor and educator. Her second novel "Where is Wonderland Anyway", will be released by Global Authors Publications in October 2003 and a collection of her plays, "Plays for a New Generation", was released in April.
