MAY IS TEEN PREGNANCY PREVENTION MONTH; CAMPAIGN FOR OUR CHILDREN OFFERS TIPS TO PARENTS, TEENS

Although teen birth rates have declined over the past few decades, the U.S. still ranks among the worst among industrialized nations in terms of teen pregnancy. Campaign For Our Children, a national non-profit dedicated to promoting healthy life choices among young people, offers practical, age-appropriate communication and prevention tips for parents and teens.

Baltimore, MD - May 12, 2003 - Efforts to help adolescents make healthy life choices and avoid pregnancy are in the spotlight this month as communities across the country recognize National Teen Pregnancy Prevention Month. In recognition of the month, non-profit Campaign For Our Children (CFOC) offers tips to parents and teens on teen pregnancy prevention.

CFOC (www.cfoc.org) believes that regular, honest communication among adults and young people can help prevent unhealthy life choices. Bronwyn Mayden, CFOC's executive director, is available for interviews from May 14 through May 16, 2003. To book a window, please call Lisa Trapani at 410-223-3531.
