Reality Networks teams up with IBM to improve the Digital Workflow"

Reality Networks gains traction within the broadcast and entertainment industries.

Miami, Florida (PRWEB) May 14, 2003 - To ensure more reliable and cost effective management of media assets for customers in the Broadcast and Entertainment industries Reality Networks will team up with IBM to provide Managed Content Services" (MCS), a robust platform that integrates easily with existing traffic and program production systems. MCS provides a cost effective solution to the problems of gathering raw and finished content from its initial state and processing it through image analysis, digitization, proprietary data mining, categorization, archiving, and repurposing for immediate use. Reality Networks Managed Content Services (MCS) delivers the needed reporting tools and audit trail for a dynamic approach at asset management with such functionality as the Content Container, Cuts only Editing, and Transcoding and Streaming on the Fly. MCS with its arsenal of tools will substantially contribute to lowering the costs of content production and distribution. Every authorized user of the system has at their fingertips a virtual VTR, Key Framing, and other important tools of the trade at any standard computer station.

Reality Networks will work with IBM who will provide the heart and soul of the MCS engine (hard disk storage devices, servers, and other technology). The distributed file system and servers on which they will operate will be based on IBM technology. The core of our system must run smoothly and be 100% reliable for our business model to succeed.
