Aerotech and Telops establish strategic alliance

Quebec, Canada May 12, 2003 -- Telops, a company specializing in the design and manufacture of optronic test systems, is proud to announce the release of its new in-adapter ferrule cleaner for fiber optic connectors, AFC 3000. The product is available through our private label partner, Aerotech World Trade Ltd (AWTL), with whom an agreement has just been signed for North America and Europe.

The AFC 3000 is a portable automatic dry cleaner tool especially designed to clean the in-ferrule adapter at the core level. The main reason for fiber failure modes is dirty connector end-faces. In order to avoid transmission problems and to keep the ferrules and fiber ends in good conditions, a cleaning must be done frequently. Several manual methods are used, but none are automatic and can guarantee the cleanliness. The cleaning at 99.5% with the AFC 3000 is repeatable, and targets the cleaning of the core and not only the ferrule. The tool can remove 1-µm particles, organic & inorganic contamination. It is static free and splash proof for external use.
